The University of North Carolina volleyball team, led by Laura Greene with 14 kills, 16 digs and six service aces, defeated Wake Forest, 3-1, in ACC action Friday night in Winston-Salem. The Tar Heels won by scores of 30-28, 30-28, 25-30, 30-27. With the win the Tar Heels improve to 10-3 for the season, 3-0 in ACC action, while Wake moves to 6-5, 1-2 in league play.
Greene was one of three Tar Heels recording double-doubles on the night. Nicole Reis totaled 10 kills and 15 digs, while Malaika Underwood tallied 18 assists and 12 digs for the match. Eve Rackham also recorded 18 assists, splitting time with Underwood at the setter position.
The Deacons were led by Trina Maso de Mayo with 22 kills and 25 digs and Sara Beth DeLisle with 16 kills and 15 digs.
The Tar Heels are back in action Saturday when they face undefeated Duke at 7:30 p.m. in Durham.
