Carolina Volleyball Defeats Villanova 3-0

Tar Heels next face Penn State Saturday at 3 p.m.

The UNC volleyball team won its second match of the season with a 3-0 victory over Villanova at the Penn State Invitational Saturday in State College, Pa. Carolina won its second straight three-game match by scores of 30-8, 30-22 and 30-23.

The Tar Heels were once again led by junior outside hitter Laura Greene who had 18 kills, six digs and six block assists for the match. Sophomore Nicole Reis was also impressive at the outside hitter position, totaling 19 digs to go along with 12 kills.

Junior setter Malaika Underwood played well for Coach Joe Sagula's squad for the second consecutive game. Underwood had 17 sets, nine digs and five kills in six attempts for a .833 hitting percentage.

The Tar Heels are back in action Saturday afternoon when they face Penn State, the No. 3-ranked team in the nation, at 3 p.m.
