Nicole Reis recorded 19 kills and had a .469 hitting percentage as the UNC volleyball team defeated NC State, 3-0, (30-12, 30-20, 30-22) Wednesday night at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh to remain atop the ACC standings. The win is the Tar Heels 11th consecutive victory and moves their record to 15-3 overall, 8-0 in ACC action. With the loss, the Wolfpack fall to 5-10, 1-7 in the ACC.
UNC's Laura Greene had 11 kills and hit .308, while Molly Pyles tallied eight kills and had a .533 hitting percentage. Malaika Underwood led the squad in assists with 40 and digs with 9.
As a team, Carolina out hit the Wolfpack .355 to .070 for the match.
Lindi Sheppard led NC State with seven kills and a .353 hitting percentage and also had 17 assists and six digs. Charece Williams led the Wolfpack with nine digs, followed by Alison Kreager with eight.
The Tar Heels are back in action Friday when they host to Kansas at 9 p.m. in Carmichael Auditorium.
