The University of North Carolina volleyball team defeated previously unbeaten Duke, 3-1, Saturday night in Durham. The Tar Heels won by scores of 30-28, 14-30, 30-26 and 30-16 and are now in sole posession of first place in the ACC. With the win, the Tar Heels improve to 11-3 for the season and 4-0 in ACC play, while Duke moves to 11-1, 3-1 in conference action.
A trio of Tar Heels recorded double-digit kills, with Nicole Reis and Laura Greene leading the way with 15 each and Holly Strauss recording 14. Strauss also recorded a team-high hitting percentage of .429 for the match.
Malaika Underwood led the Tar Heels in digs with 23, while Greene totaled 21 and setter Eve Rackham tallied 15. Rackham also recorded 41 assists for UNC coach Joe Sagula's squad, her highest assist total since suffering an ankle injury against Penn State Sept. 1.
