The University of North Carolina volleyball team defeated Clemson 3-0 (30-27, 30-23, 31-29) Sunday afternoon in Clemson, S.C. The win improves the Tar Heels to 19-6 overall, 11-3 in the ACC, while the Tigers fall to 8-15, 3-11 in conference action.
Carolina's Laura Greene led all hitters with 14 kills and added nine digs, as well. Nicole Reis posted a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs, and Malaika Underwood tallied 16 digs and six kills.
Eve Rackham led the Tar Heels in assists with 28, and Krista Buchholz led the squad in blocks with six.
Leslie Finn and Ryane Beasley each recorded 11 kills for the Tigers, while Jodi Steffes led the squad in digs with 12, and Jessi Betcher led the team in assists with 23.
Carolina outhit Clemson .238 to .154 for the match.
Coach Joe Sagula's Tar Heels are back in action Tuesday when they host NC State at 7 p.m. in Carmichael Auditorium.
